Performance of sweet potato genotypes in Brazilian regions

چکیده
The average yield of sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lam.) in Brazil is below the crop potential, and appropriate cultural practices more productive cultivars are needed to improve yield. Beauregard cultivar, originally from United States, has shown high potential. This study evaluated performance features agronomic importance cultivar comparison local eight sweet-potato clones Brazilian regions. For that purpose, two sets experiments were carried out. first set Beauregard, Olho Roxo Ourinhos Brasília–DF Itabaiana–SE using as criteria foliage six root traits. In second set, (9 75), Brazlândia Branca Canadense Piacatú–SP, Brasília–DF, PAD–DF, Canoinhas–SC Altamira–PA, for traits: commercial, non-commercial, total presented little production but great across different environments. Since it low dry matter content, acceptance this may be limited some None showed stable justify a commercial launch.

In Vitro Conservation of Sweet Potato Genotypes
The aim of this study was to develop a protocol for the in vitro conservation of sweet potato genotypes using the slow growth technique. The first experiment was conducted in a 4 × 5 × 2 factorial scheme, testing four genotypes (IPB-007, IPB-052, IPB-072, and IPB-137), five concentrations of abscisic acid (ABA) (0.0, 1.0, 2.0, 4.0, and 8.0 mg·L⁻¹), and two temperatures (18 and 25°C). The second...
متن کاملRoot-yield performance of pre-release sweet potato genotypes in Kenya
Objective: The focus of this study was to evaluate the yield and stability of superior sweet potato cultivars for release in Kenya. This is the first attempt to document experimental results that have led to the first and so far only sweet potato variety release in Kenya. Methodology: Ten national performance trials laid out as randomized complete block designs were performed on 14 sweet potato...

Field sweet potato plants showing virus-like symptoms, as stunting, leaf distortion, mosaic and chlorosis, were collected in southwest Portugal and tested for the presence of four potyviruses, sweet potato virus C (SPVC), sweet potato virus 2 (SPV2), sweet potato feathery mottle virus (SPFMV), sweet potato virus G (SPVG), and the crinivirus sweet potato chlorotic stunt virus (SPCSV). DsRNA frac...
متن کاملPressurized liquid extraction and quantification of anthocyanins in purple-fleshed sweet potato genotypes
Analysis of anthocyanins responsible for the purple flesh color is important for breeding programs and development of value-added products. This study aimed to optimize the conditions for anthocyanin extraction from purple-fleshed sweet potatoes (PFSP) using pressurized-liquid extraction (PLE) method and quantify anthocyanins in various genotypes. Freeze-dried powders of PFSP genotypes were ext...
متن کاملSweet-potato Scurf
The scurf disease of the sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas) was first described by Halsted, who published a brief account of it in 1890. To the fungus he gave the name Monilochaetes infuscans, a new genus and species, of which, unfortunately, he gave no technical description. For many years following his pioneer work little or no attention was given to sweet-potato diseases. This very common and in...
